The four
Ecuadorian regions have very different weather conditions,
affected mostly by altitude and location. The Andes
and the ocean affect each area in such a way that
there are even very distinct microclimates within
each region. Overall, the coast has a rainy season
between December and May, and a dry season between
June and November. The temperature ranges approximately
between 23 and 36 degrees Celsius (73 and 97°F).
The mountain region, on the other hand, is cold and
rainy between November and April and dry from May
to October, with the temperature fluctuating between
13 and 18 degrees Celsius (55 and 64°F). In the
Amazon region it is rainy and humid from January to
September and dry from October to December. The thermometer
reads between 23 and 36 degrees Celsius (73 and 97°F).
Galapagos instead has a temperate climate with temperatures
ranging between 22 and 32 degrees Celsius (72 and
92°F).
